Founded in 2015 by a group of visionaries and dedicated medical professionals, Shri Ganesh Vinayak Foundation is the social wing of our renowned hospital, Shri Ganesh Vinayak Eye Hospital, located in Raipur.
Our primary objective is to eradicate preventable blindness from central India through our network of 19 vision centers, three secondary-level eye hospitals, and a tertiary-level eye hospital. Currently, we operate in 12 districts of Chhattisgarh. Since our inception in 2015, we have positively impacted approximately 200,000 individuals, including over 11,000 children, by providing them with the awareness, screenings, and eye care services they deserve. In 2023 alone, we provided eye care to 83,463 individuals suffering from eye diseases, distributed 5,073 free spectacles, and performed 4,493 free cataract surgeries. Additionally, we extended our services to 17,873 truck drivers, providing 7,589 free spectacles in collaboration with our esteemed partner, Sightsavers India.
Eye care in India is often a neglected topic, even among the otherwise aware and economically strong population. For rural and poor communities, eye care services are frequently inaccessible. Cataracts, the leading cause of preventable blindness in India, cost our economy approximately INR 1 Lakh Crore in missed opportunities each year. Our vision is to provide eye care services to all, regardless of geographical location, economic background, or type of eye disease, in order to address all possible causes of preventable blindness in central India. Our “Hub and Spoke” model, coupled with last-mile connectivity and cutting-edge technology courtesy of our partners, ensures that we deliver the best services to underserved communities.
